Norwalk Hospital EMS is a hospital based system which is the sole 911 EMS provider for the City of Norwalk Ct. We provide 24/7 paramedic ambulance service to the city of Norwalk as well as fly-car paramedics to various volunteer agencies in the surrounding communities. Our service area covers over 140 square miles and is dynamic and fully integrated, allowing our paramedic and EMT staff to quickly adapt to the changing needs of the 140,000 residents we serve. Our flycar paramedics are stationed at "satellite" stations to provide coverage for New Canaan, Wilton, Weston and Wesport. The paramedics in these communities respond seperately from the ambulance, allowing them to remain available in their service area when a patient's condition does not require advanced life support in the field.

While working in Norwalk, our staff is based in the Emergency Department of Norwalk Hospital and works side-by-side with the physicians and nurses when not responding to emergencies in the community. While in the ED they are often called upon to assist with or perform advanced procedures and are regularly involved in patient care. This unique aspect of the system is an asset to the care we provide our patients, allowing the Norwalk Hospital experience to begin at their doorstep and seamlessly transition into the Emergency Department.
