In the City of Norwalk, the Norwalk Fire Dept and the Norwalk Police Dept act as first responders. Depending on the nature of the emergency, one or both agencies will respond with the ambulance. The Norwalk Fire Dept has five stations dynamically located throughout the city enabling them to arrive at your location within minutes to assist our Paramedics with patient care.  The Norwalk Police Dept has numerous units on patrol throughout the city which are all equipped to provide basic life support.  All three agencies work in unison to provide the best care possible for the citizens and guests of Norwalk.  This cooperative effort between all three agencies has recently helped the city of Norwalk be designated as a HEARTSafe Community, by the Department of Public Health and the American Heart Association. Norwalk is one of just 13 communities in the state to earn this designation.
